KEDWORTH & QUIRE Independent insurance brokers · est. 1974

The firm

Brokers, not an insurer's shop window

Kedworth & Quire has placed cover from the same office on Corve Street since 1974. Nine people, one switchboard, no call centre.

FOLD — DO NOT DETACH

An independent intermediary places your risk across the market rather than filling one insurer's forms. In practice that means three things. Your renewal is re-broked every year, not rolled over. A risk that does not fit a standard wording goes to an underwriter who will look at it, rather than into an exclusion. And when a claim is argued, the person arguing it is not employed by the company paying it.

We are paid by commission from the insurer, and by a fee where a placing takes work a commission does not cover. Either way, the figure is disclosed before you sign. Ask, and it is in the letter.

Nine staff: four brokers, two claims handlers, an accounts clerk and two apprentices on the CII pathway. Every client has a named broker and that broker's direct line. Nobody here works to a call-handling target.
